Goals and progress

Goals turn a vague intention ("sit better", "take breaks") into something you can actually see yourself keeping. ScreenGuardian tracks your progress and streaks so good habits get a little momentum behind them.

Setting a goal

Pick a goal that matches what you want to improve and let the app track it as you work. You do not need to babysit it; progress updates in the background from the same feedback you already get during a session.

Days met and streaks

Instead of one running number, ScreenGuardian counts the days you met your goal and the streaks you build. A streak is a gentle form of accountability: it makes a good week visible and gives you a reason not to break the chain, without turning your posture into a leaderboard.

Quality over quantity

ScreenGuardian is deliberately not a screen-time limiter. Capping raw hours fights the premise, plenty of screen time is fine if you sit well, keep a healthy distance, and rest your eyes. Goals focus on the quality of your time at the screen, not punishing you for being there.

Seeing your progress

The dashboard and statistics view show how your sessions trend over time, so you can tell whether things are getting better across a week or a month rather than guessing from a single day. It is a quiet record you can glance at, not a report you have to manage.

Common questions

Is my goal data sent anywhere?

No. Goals and progress are stored locally on your computer like the rest of your stats. See your data and privacy.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing punitive. A streak simply pauses; you pick it back up the next day. The aim is steady, sustainable habits, not a perfect record.
